Equine Craniosacral Therapy is a holistic healing practice which comprises light finger pressure and palpation to the cranial wave to enable the body to move to its fullest extent without pain or discomfort. This gentle method can be highly effective in dealing with conditions including headshaking, blocked tear ducts, sinus issues, behavioural issues, asymmetry, facial nerve impingement, temporomandibular (TMJ) dysfunction, head, spinal and hind end issues. The work focuses on the dura mater in the spinal column and the cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. An injury at one end of the horse can create restrictions at the opposite end as well as a torque throughout the body. This gentle hands on healing also works with the suture bones of the horses skull to release restrictions and imbalances that may be causing pain. Energetic contacts are made to open and align the bones of the cranium creating positive effects mentally, physically and emotionally.

Craniopathy was originated for humans by Dr. William Sutherland. Dr. John Upledger coined the therapy Craniosacral Therapy and Dr Hugh Milne took it a step further to Visionary Craniosacral Therapy.

CranioSacral Therapy is an excellent complementary therapy to routine veterinary care.
